Everyday objects,
made into small moments of art.
A London-based design house drawing on the patterns, motifs, and design stories of cultures across the world, brought into the objects we carry and live with every day. Made by skilled artisans, for every home that loves a story.
Our story
Hello! I am Alpesh, the founder of Bombay Design Co., based in London.
Growing up in Mumbai (known as Bombay until 1995) meant being surrounded by a rich tapestry of influences; Buddhist cave carvings, Indo-Saracenic arches, Gothic spires, bold Art Deco geometry. Each corner of the city offered a new lesson in craftsmanship, balance, and beauty.
As years passed and travels expanded my world, I found the same spirit of detail in places far from home. A motif in a museum, a pattern in a local market, a form repeated across a city’s architecture. These patterns, motifs, and design stories became quiet sources of inspiration.
In 2026, I founded Bombay Design Co. to bring those inspirations into the objects we live with every day. Each piece is designed to be more than functional, its meant to spark curiosity, tell a story, and elevate the simple moments of daily living.

The Craft
Bombay Design Co. has partnered with Arpita from Slow Earth Studio, based in Mumbai, whose deep passion for fabrics, materials, and meticulous craftsmanship brings these designs to life. She works closely with skilled local artisans, guiding every step of the making process, from selecting the right textures to perfecting the smallest details. Her commitment to craft ensures that every piece carries the authenticity and human touch that defines the brand.
-
Carefully chosen materials meet handpicked artisans and suppliers, quietly perfected and designed to last.
-
Inspired by quiet details, each piece is designed to be more than functional. It's meant to delight the senses, in how it feels in the hand as much as how it looks in a room.
-
The way we make is as considered as what we make. Our choices at every stage: who we work with, how much we produce, what we order, all of these choices reflect a commitment to craft that goes beyond the object itself.
-
Bombay Design Co. produces each design in batches of no more than 100 pieces. This is a deliberate choice, not a constraint.

The Design
A quiet dialogue between eras, where the playful geometry of Bombay's Art Deco meets the soft, sweeping arches of Rajput and Mughal architecture. This set of mix designs brings together four distinct expressions of that dialogue, scalloped arches, interlocking diamonds, radiating fans, and layered geometric lines, each a different verse in the same architectural story.
