Most of our products are made in India, in close collaboration with Slow Earth Studio, in Mumbai, who works with a team of skilled artisans, guiding every stage of the making process - from selecting the right textures and threads to perfecting the smallest embroidered detail. We also work with specialised partners in the UK and Germany to produce certain products.

We work predominantly with 100% natural cotton, a material that holds embroidery beautifully and softens with time and use. Our Bombay Deco coasters are printed on brushed gold aluminium dibond, chosen for their warm metallic surface and lasting durability. Every material is selected to deliver a sensory experience, for how it feels in the hand as much as how it looks.

Bombay Design Co. produces each design in batches of no more than 100 pieces. This is a deliberate choice, not a constraint.

Staying small means we can work with skilled artisan groups who produce with care rather than volume, makers whose craft is exceptional, but who don't have the capacity to fulfil large industrial orders. It keeps our work human.

It also means we order materials to match the run, not a forecast. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to be used. No excess fabric, no surplus stock, just what's needed, made with care and attention to details.

If something isn't quite right, we want to make it so. Please contact us on hello@bombaydesign.co within 14 days of receiving your order and we'll do our best to find a solution. Items must be returned in their original, unused condition.
